A Southeast D.C. resident was killed in a Saturday night shooting, police say.
According to Metropolitan Police crime news, Tejuan Coleman, 31, was killed by a gunshot in Southeast Washington, D.C., on Friday, December 22, 2023. The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch is looking into this murder. Seventh District police were called to the 3000 block of Stanton Road, Southeast, at 11:16 p.m. because of gunshots. Law enforcement found strong proof of a gunshot at the scene. After that, police in the First District heard that a taxi driver had taken Tejuan Coleman to the station while he was hurt. Coleman died of his shooting wounds, even though help arrived quickly. It was a sad end to the night.
