Is This Taxable?
According to a published article in DEMOPOLIS TIMES, state officials in Alabama clarified that the one-time tax rebate is not taxable at the state level. However, the Internal Revenue Service has not yet released any information on whether this is taxable at the federal level, just like what happened in Michigan.
Furthermore, it is expected that nearly two million taxpayers across the state will receive the one-time tax rebate payment and the Alabama Department of Revenue assured that they are doing everything to deliver the rebate checks.
