Road Rage Incident Ends in Sword-Wielding Arrest
A guy from Florida, 65-year-old Gervacio Aranca Jr., was arrested last Friday after a very strange road rage fight in Ocala that involved a sword and a series of strange events. The dramatic event started when Aranca allegedly revved his engine at a red light, which made another driver very angry. The situation got worse very quickly as the two guys kept arguing heavily while driving down Highway 200.
According to an arrest affidavit posted by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Aranca allegedly threw something from his car that hit the victim’s back door and caused a damage estimate of $1,000. After a subsequent pullover, the situation became very scary when Aranca got out of his car brandishing a sword, and tried to stab the victim. The victim just barely avoided being attacked and ran to safety before calling 911 to report the terrifying event.
Using the license number from the video, deputies were able to find Aranca with the help of information from the victim. In response to questions, Aranca said that the victim started the road rage by sideswiping his car. He also said that he thought the victim was threatening his life with a gun. However investigations showed that the gun charge was false, and Aranca’s wife confirmed this.

Aranca refused to talk to the police after being read his Miranda rights, which made the whole thing even stranger. After that, he was arrested and is being held at the Marion County Jail on a $19,000 bond right now.

This terrifying event serves as a stark warning of how important it is to be patient and calm on the roads, and of the terrible things that can happen when you don’t show restraint in heated situations.
