The US Senate has passed a defense bill that includes measures to increase Border Patrol salary for their overtime work.
Sinema Passes Bill Raising Border Patrol Salary for Overtime Work
KYMA reports that the annual bipartisan defense bill which included Senator Sinema and Senator Kelly’s measure to raise Border Patrol salary for their overtime work. The defense bill was passed by the US Senate.
Senators Sinema and Kelly stated that the purpose of the measure is due to the surge of migrants at the Southwest border which leaves communities in Arizona, its agents, and migrants in crisis.

Senators Sinema and Kelly Notes Border Patrol’s Arduous Job
According to Sinema Senate, Senators Sinema and Kelly have noted the arduous jobs that Border Patrol faces every single day.
Sinema stated that Border Patrol agents have done a double duty in keeping the families in Arizona safe. Moreover, the senator stated how delivering real resources helps them do their jobs and keep families and communities in Arizona safe.
Senator Kelly also stated that overtime pay for the Border Patrol salary would be helpful as they are working an arduous job like working around the clock to process migrants and secure the border. Thus, Border Patrol agents deserve an overtime pay.
