Alex Karp, CEO of Palantir Technologies Inc., criticized European nations during a discussion about the US military.
According to Stars and Stripes recent report, US defense technology companies like Palantir and Anduril are having trouble getting contracts and market share as they try to grow into Europe. When the companies started their expansion, they did not anticipate these issues. European governments prefer to work with local providers, which makes it harder for Silicon Valley companies to grow in the defense sector of the continent. This is the case even though these companies have been successful in the US. A lack of money for the military, different security goals, and a focus on autonomy are just some of the things that make the fight harder. Because Russia invaded Ukraine, the companies first became interested in Europe. However, they have realized that their early attempts to make friends in Europe did not lead to the acquisition of major contracts or financial resources. Because of this, these companies are now turning their attention to the South China Sea, where they hope to find new possibilities that may arise because of the rising tensions around Taiwan.
