State officials in New Mexico announced that they are looking for residents in the states who did not claim their 2022 rebate checks worth $500.
$500 Will Be Sent to Eligible Taxpayers in Residents in New Mexico
New Mexico state officials said that they already turned over around 16,700 unclaimed rebate checks worth $6 million to the New Mexico Tax and Revenue Department as undeliverable. These checks were part of the three rounds worth $500 sent to eligible taxpayers in the state.
In a published article in Santa Fe New Mexican, they are now looking for eligible taxpayers who need to receive the rebate checks. They also advised the taxpayers to visit the website nmclaims.unclaimedproperty.com to check if their names are included in the list.

How To Reach Out for the Unclaimed
According to an article published in Yahoo News, the department sent around 11,500 rebate checks earlier this year. These were returned as undeliverable but have not been forwarded to Unclaimed Property. Eligible taxpayers can claim these through nm.rebates&tax.nm.go for missed 2023 rebate checks.
Furthermore, the department also advised the taxpayers in the state to update their addresses by creating an account at tap.state.nm.us or by submitting Form RPD-41260.
