Tax officials in New Mexico announced that eligible residents in the state can claim an amount of up to $500 due to unclaimed property funds.
What Residents in New Mexico Can Claim?
States across the country are now starting to distribute different types of funds or extra money to their residents through tax rebates, tax refunds, and unclaimed property funds. New Mexico has announced that eligible residents will release its unclaimed property funds.
In a published article in SOURCE NM, around 16,500 rebate checks fall under Unclaimed Property in an account controlled by the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department. It is estimated to be around $6 million that residents in New Mexico can claim.

What To Do To Claim the $500 Fund?
The state officials set up ways on how to claim the fund. Here are the ways:
- First, search your name online on this system tax where department officials list unclaimed property, i.e. your money.
- Or, scan the QR code to get access to the database and see if the state of New Mexico owes you money.
- If you have money owed, then you need to claim yours. You can do it on the website or by emailing your claim information to a state agent at [email protected].
Furthermore, spokesperson Charlie Moore said that an additional 11,500 rebate checks from 2023 have already been returned to the state.
