US Navy Battleships Won’t Ever Make a Comeback

According to The National Interest, there is something romantic about the idea of US Navy battleships steaming out to sea once again. The largest US Navy battleships ever built in the United States were maintained intact so they could return to duty.

However, there is still talk about whether the US Navy battleships will be back in active service. Although, the dreams of the many aren’t likely to come true as the guided-missile destroyers can do the job of shore.

US Navy Battleships Requires Enormous Cost and Crews

According to an article in the National Interest, the US Navy’s fast battleships were powerless to hypersonic missiles and stealth aircraft, requiring large crews and inviting attacks. Moreover, it would likely require a makeover, and the US currently lacks the structures to even handle such a refit.

The USS Texas is undergoing significant repairs due to a leaky hull, putting the USS Massachusetts in danger of being lost.

Another issue about the US Navy battleship is its lack of spare parts before it could return to usefulness. Thus, US Navy battleships are improbable to come back to the shore.
