Big Tech Has 1.2 Billion Prospect Customers

On Tuesday’s “Carl Higbie FRONTLINE,” the former deputy U.S. military envoy to NATO accused Big Tech of abandoning their beliefs to do business abroad. China is “a massive market,” Holt remarked. Holt stated that they want to get in and earn money but at the price of all of us and our freedoms here at home. These firms should be barred from conducting business in China because of their (U.S. Code Title 47 Section) 230 exemptions, freedom of movement, and potential to build monopolies with no checks on them.

Holt said Big Tech should be broken up into “little pieces.” to boost the economy. Microsoft gave Chinese Communist Party newspapers China Daily and People’s Daily technologies to target readers, according to The Washington Free Beacon. Geoffrey Cain, the policy director of Tech Integrity Project, claims that Microsoft does not like to offend the Chinese Communist Party and lose access to those 1.2 billion prospective customers. Over the past twenty years, Microsoft has gained significant traction with the Chinese government, and gaining the favor of Chinese Communist Party officials requires a great deal of political maneuvering. The Free Beacon said that Microsoft employs 9,000 Chinese employees and aspires to reach 10,000 by year’s end.
