The US Navy states that it will cost a million and a half to salvage a jet plane crash on a coral reef in Hawaii in November.

According to WATODAY, the spokesman of the US Navy, Mohammad Issa stated that the estimated cost for the salvage efforts for the jet plane crash is $1.5 million. Moreover, $200,000 has already been spent on the said operation.

The US Navy plans to use inflatable cylinders to lift and roll the jet plane off the coral reef where it crashed on November 20.

Cause of Jet Plane Crash Still Under Investigation, Commander of Carrier Strike Confident of the Operation

According to US News, the cause of the jet plane crash that occurred on November 20 where nine people were on board is still under investigation. Fortunately, the people that were on board the jet were not injured.

Moreover, the commander of Carrier Strike Group 3, Rear Admiral Kevin Lenox, stated that he is confident of the salvage operation without further damaging the coral reef in Hawaii.

The navy team has removed nearly all of the estimated 7500 liters of fuel from the aircraft. Once the jet plane is removed, the coral reef will be examined.
