NASA’s Artemis 3 Crew Unlikely to Fly as Planned

GAO reports that NASA’s steps in taking the Artemis 3 crew to the moon for the first time since 1972, would likely be rescheduled before 2027, instead of the tentative schedule which is December 2025.

The delay of the task of the Artemis 3 crew was due to the multiple challenges and an ambitious plan, as announced by the US Government Accountability Office last Thursday, Nov. 30.

NASA’s Artemis 3 Crew Likely To Fly Early 2027 with the Help of HLS and SpaceX

SPACE reports that there is much pending technological work on the human landing system program or HLS program, a variant of SpaceX’s Starship and NASA’s mode of conveyance to the moon’s surface.

The HLS program and SpaceX have delayed eight out of thirteen key junctures by six months to a year, causing the postponement of the takeoff. Moreover, if the HLS and SpaceX development takes a standard of as much time as other undertakings at NASA, the Artemis 3 crew would likely liftoff in early 2027.
