Last October, authorities said an Oklahoma man is wanted after allegedly shooting a Cleveland County deputy and injuring and killing a motorist with a stray gunshot Wednesday morning.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations (OSBI) and other law enforcement agencies are looking for Kameron Jenkins, 25, who was last seen on Interstate 35 south of Paul’s Valley.
The deputy was shot at the 60-mile marker on I-35 after an attempted traffic stop that evolved into a pursuit, according to officials.
The deputy was airlifted from the site to a nearby hospital, where he was said to be in stable condition.
An innocent driver was also injured, apparently by a stray gunshot fired by the perpetrator as he was shooting at police. The driver has now died.
Jenkins is described as a black male who stands around 6-foot-4 and weighs between 170-200 pounds. He was last spotted wearing a white shirt and having black dreadlocks.
Jenkins is considered armed and dangerous, according to the Oklahoma State Highway Patrol, and he may be in possession of a semi-automatic firearm.
Anyone who sees Jenkins is encouraged to call 911.
According to FOX 25 in Oklahoma City, investigators believe Jenkins is in the back of a white trailer being hauled by a black pickup vehicle.
His criminal history includes a dismissed maiming accusation in 2015, assault and violence in 2017, for which he pleaded guilty, and DUI and drug charges in 2019.
