Thousands of Americans will receive an amount of $5,000 in free money after the Snap Financing settlement due to data breach.
$5,000 in Free Money from Snap Financing Settlement
Snap Financing is a lending company that offers all forms and types of credit to consumers. However, a data breach occurred in 2022 that affected the personal and confidential information of consumers. This led a group to file a lawsuit.
In a published article in The U.S. Sun, Snap Financing will compensate the affected consumers and agreed to pay out a total of $1.8 million as a settlement. Each of the affected and eligible consumers will receive an amount of $5,000. However, the lending company did not accept any wrongdoing.
Who Qualifies for the Snap Financing Settlement?
According to a published article in Bloomberg Law, those who qualified for the Snap Financing settlement are those who were affected of the data breach between June 23 and September 8, 2022. Snap Financing already sent a letter to the affected consumers in December 2022.
Furthermore, affected consumers will receive an amount of $5,000 to cover the cost of various data-breach expenses which could include fraud, identity theft, bank fees credit costs, and more. Moreover, consumers can also be awarded of up to two years of free credit monitoring.
