The women’s prison in Mexico has been plagued by food poisoning and poor medical care and it keeps getting worse as the prison is now hit by a wave of eight suicides for the last 4 and a half months.
Women’s Prison in Mexico Reports Eight Suicides for the Last 4 1/2 Months
According to FOX, the women’s prison in Mexico has confirmed the suicides in a statement and said it was taking steps to improve the situation at the women’s prison in Morales, Mexico City.
To improve the situation in the women’s prison in Mexico, the office changed prison managers and increased activities such as sports, cultural, and handicrafts.

Food Poisoning and Poor Medical Care at Women’s Prison in Mexico
According to the Washington Post, there have been many reports from earlier this year about the conditions in the women’s prison in Mexico. It was said to be harsh as the inmates are served with rotting food which causes food poisoning to 400 inmates. Moreover, some of the inmates were also not given appropriate medical care after falling ill.
Due to the situation in the women’s prison in Mexico, a statement was issued by a coalition of rights and advocacy in which it stated that the lack of medical care was a serious violation of human rights.
