An Aurora officer, Nathan Woodyard, has been found not guilty of the death of Elijah McClain, who died after he was put in a carotid hold by police and given ketamine by paramedics.

According to NTD, the second Denver-area police officer has been acquitted of all charges in the 2019 death of Elijah McClain, a slender, young, Black man, who died after being tackled by the police officer and injected with ketamine by paramedics.
Sheneen McClain, the mother of Elijah McClain, sat in the front row of the courtroom and left with a fist raised high just as she did on the first trial last month against two other officers. She refused to comment.

According to PBS, the death of Elijah McClain received little attention until George Floyd’s death in 2020 which sparked renewed outrage over McClain’s death.
The last words spoken by the young man which was and I quote; “I’m an introvert and I’m different,” struck a chord with people.
An earlier trial against two other officers in connection with the death of Elijah McClain resulted in split verdict, with one officer convicted of homicide and third-degree assault and other officer acquitted of all charges.
