MIT Doya, Second-Place Team of First Nations Launch Competition, Blasted Rocket in 2o23: Another Possible Launch in 2024
As per MIT News, the MIT Doya team, participating in the First Nations Launch competition, achieved a significant milestone by successfully launching a rocket to a height of 1,290 meters. This achievement enabled them to secure the second position in the said competition.
MIT Doya’s all-Indigenous team of undergraduates and grad students designed, built, and tested a rocket before formally presenting it to the First Nations Launch competition.

Journey to the Stars and The Sky: Second-Place Team of First Nations Launch Talks About Experience
According to AeroAstro, Peyton Meader, a part of the second-place team of First Nations Launch talks about her experience. She stated that she didn’t think she’d be joining a rocket team, even more so, being able to launch a rocket.
Nicole McGaa also stated that joining the First Nations Launch contest was a great experience for taking a journey to the sky and visit the Father Sky with an Indigenous concept. She also stated that aerospace is something that is for the minds, inspiration, and wonder of it all.
