The Louisiana Department of Revenue announced that more unclaimed property will be sent to residents in Louisiana and has added $7.9 million to claim.
$900 in Unclaimed Money To Be Sent To Eligible Residents in Louisiana
The unclaimed property in the state of Louisiana refers to royalties, unclaimed cash, stocks, bonds, securities, and insurance proceeds that were not claimed by their rightful owners. The Treasury said that one in six Louisiana residents has unclaimed property.
In a published article in The Advocate, an amount of $900 could be sent to qualified residents in the state. State Treasurer John M. Schroder said, “This is a very rare story, but it goes to show that you never know what may end up as unclaimed property.”

Additional $7.9 Million
According to an article published in KLFY, the Louisiana Department of Revenue announced that an additional $7.9 million in the unclaimed property program had been added. This new fund consists of 26,273 unclaimed state tax refunds that people may have lost track of.
State Treasurer John Schroder said, “This $7.9 million belongs to the people of Louisiana, and we are eager to assist them in claiming what is rightfully theirs. We make claiming your money easy,” Furthermore, residents can search their names through LaCashClaim.org or they can call 888-925-4127 if they qualify for the claim.
