The chief of the Federal Bureau of Investigation(FBI) of the United States said last Tuesday that North Korea, China, and Russia are using cyber operations to target the country’s research.

FBI Chief Christopher Wray said the remarks in a statement during a session of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs that cybercriminal actors continue to innovate by using unique cyber operations techniques to compromise the U.S. research network.
FBI has seen China working to obtain controlled dual-use technology while developing a range of advanced cyber operations capabilities deployable against other countries in the occurrence of a real conflict.
The FBI chief stated that there is growing concerned about the ability to detect cyber operations against the country’s organizations as hostile actors develop more cultured methods, stressing the need to elevate the difficulty and punishment for carrying out such cyber operations activities.

As for intelligence threats, the FBI Chief said enemies are more aggressive
China, Russia, and Iran are becoming more capable than ever before adding the greatest long-term threat to the United States’ ideas and economic security is the threat of foreign intelligence and economic espionage by China, and now cybercrime operations.
