Eligible residents in Washington will receive an amount of $1,200 new tax credit as part of the State Working Families Tax Credit. This program will help many families across the state provided that they need to qualify in the eligibility criteria.
In a published article in MARCA, the state of Washington explained on its website that, “The Working Families Tax Credit is a new annual tax refund for Washington residents worth between 50 dollars and 1,200 dollars, depending on your income level and how many qualifying children you have in your household.

5 Eligibility Requirements for the $1,200 Washington State Working Families Tax Credit 2023
According to a published article in Yahoo Finance, the following are the five eligibility requirements:
- Have a valid Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).
- Have lived in Washington a minimum of 183 days in 2022 (over half the year).
- Have been at least 25 and under 65 years of age OR have had a qualifying child in 2022.
- Have filed a 2022 federal tax return.
- Be eligible to claim the federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) on the 2022 tax return.
Furthermore, they also clarified that undocumented workers and others who use an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number to do their taxes are eligible for this payment and everyone has three years to claim this tax credit.
