New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham approved a tax rebate for eligible residents in the state that will send $1,000.
$1,000 in Stimulus Checks in New Mexico
State Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham signed a bill that will send up to $1,000 in stimulus checks as part of the New Mexico Economic Relief Payments. Single filers can receive $500, while married couples jointly filing returns together, heads of households, and surviving spouses will receive $1,000.
In a published article in MARCA, these stimulus checks will immediately be sent to the residents in the state but they need to have completed the 2021 Personal Tax Income (PIT) return and are not declared as a dependent on another taxpayer’s return.

How to Claim the $1,000 Stimulus Checks?
According to a published article in Yahoo News, eligible residents in New Mexico will have until May 31, 2024 to file for their 2021 PIT return forms if they have not yet filed. Meanwhile, relief payments for those who do not qualify for the payments were also made available.
Furthermore, rebate checks were already printed and sent to eligible residents through the end of June 2023, with those receiving direct deposits getting it by June 19. Those who are relocated are advised to updated their Taxpayer Access point (TAP) or submit a Form RPD-41260, Personal Income Tax Change of Address Form to the Tax and Revenue Department as soon as possible.
