Police authorities arrested two suspects in connection with the deceased and a naked body found in a large barrel in Malibu Beach.

Police authorities arrested two suspects identified as Joshua Lee Simmons, 37 years old, and Dennis Vance, 41 years old in connection to the deceased and a naked body found in a large barrel in Malibu Beach. The victim is identified as Javonnta Murphy.
In a published article in TRUE CRIME DAILY, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said that the homicide detectives responded on July 31 after 10:30 a.m. at 23200 block of the Pacific Coast Highway about the death investigation. They found the deceased and naked body retrieved by a lifeguard from a 55-gallon plastic barrel drum.

Incident Could Be Connected to the Death of Rapper Pop Smoke
According to an article published in CBS News, police authorities are looking into the possibility that the incident could be connected to the death of rapper Pop Smoke in 2020. It was found that the victim was one of the persons arrested in connection with the rapper’s death.
Meanwhile, Simmons was charged with the following:
- Murder
- Personal use of a firearm
- Criminal threats
Last month, he was also charged with attempted robbery, two counts of criminal threats, with a personal use of bear spray in connection with a robbery attempt in El Monte.
