Tax Refund in Virginia
A tax refund in Virginia will be released soon after it has passed and been included in the Virginia General Assembly. It is expected that an amount of more than $900 million in tax refunds will be sent to eligible taxpayers in the state in the upcoming weeks.
In a published article in NBC, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin said, “Rebates are an important step going into the holiday season to help Virginians keep more of their hard-earned money for gas, groceries, and essentials.”

Eligibility and Online Lookup Tool
According to an article published in Yahoo News, not everyone will receive a tax refund in Virginia but here the eligibility requirement:
- Owed and paid taxes in 2022
- rebates are based on a person’s tax liability — the amount of taxes you owe on your taxable income for the year — minus any credits, deductions, or subtractions
- Must have filed their 2022 income tax
Meanwhile, the Virginia Department of Taxation launched an online lookup tool to help taxpayers determine if they are eligible and will receive a tax refund in Virginia. Furthermore, those who have not yet filed their 2022 income taxes will have until November 1 to qualify for the tax refund.
