Virginia residents have six more days to pay their 2022 state income taxes for a $400 tax credit.

The reimbursement is available if tax returns are filed in the Old Dominion by Nov. 1, six months after the May 1, 2023, deadline for 2022 Virginia state income taxes. A taxpayer who filed by the normal date gets the rebate without further processes. The state claims solo filers can get $200 and joint filers $400 in refunds. Taxpayers in the state who owe taxes will receive the rebate. Residents can verify if and how much they qualify for the rebate on the state website.
Taxpayers are receiving tax rebate payouts via direct deposit or paper check, depending on how they obtained their refund earlier this year. On Tuesday, Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) stated that qualified Virginians would receive the tax rebate on Wednesday. The distribution is rolling over three weeks.
