The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits is a program of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and is implemented at the state level. This has helped millions of American families meet their daily needs and buy nutritious foods.
In a published article in MARCA, the USDA announced that the maximum amount of SNAP for a family of four will start to increase this month from $939 to $973. The increase is part of the annual cost-of-living revisions by the USDA to adjust the amount of food benefits that SNAP recipients will receive.

Increase of SNAP Benefits in Florida
According to a published article in FOX61, the new amount that eligible household will receive for the 2024 fiscal year are up between 3.5% and 3.7% on the 2023 allocations. Meanwhile, the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities said, “SNAP reduces hunger by as much as 30% and is even more effective among children.”
Furthermore, the Bureau Labor of Statistics said that the increase of $34 for a household of four is within the measurement set by the bureau. The latest Consumer Price Index shows that the cost of all items in June, 2023 was up 3% over the year before.
