Tropical Storm Norma will Mostly Become A Hurricane
Tropical Depression Tuesday saw the formation of Norma in the western Pacific Ocean off the coast of Mexico, and the National Hurricane Centre in the United States has predicted that it will most likely become a hurricane, posing a threat to the resort of Los Cabos, which is located on the southernmost tip of the Baja California peninsula.
By the next weekend, Norma may have arrived in Los Cabos, which is comprised of the resort twins of San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. Norma’s winds were measured at 40 mph (65 kph) on Tuesday, but they are expected to pick up speed and reach as high as 105 mph (168 kph) by the weekend. The eye of the storm was situated approximately 690 miles (1,110 km) south-southeast of Cabo San Lucas and was moving at a speed of 10 mph (17 kph) to the west-northwest. Later in the week, however, the storm is forecast to take a course that is more inclined to move northward.
