A 4 year old child in Minnesota reportedly shot a younger sibling after finding a loaded gun in the backseat of the car, which he allegedly mistaken as a toy.

According to PEOPLE, a 4 year old child in Minnesota reportedly shot a younger sibling after finding a loaded gun in the backseat of the vehicle, assuming it was a toy.
The authorities are currently investigating what exactly took place as to why a 2-year-old was wounded by a gun and stated that the 4 year old fired a loaded weapon at the sibling over the weekend in what is believed to be an accidental incident.
It was also noted that the 4 year old child was sitting in the backseat with the younger child when the child was struck.
4 Year Old Accidental Incident Initial Report
According to CBS, the deputies were called to the scene on Sunday before 10:30 a.m. after responding to a report that a 4 year old found a firearm and shot their younger sibling.
The first responders were the 4 year old child’s parents, who called the deputies and made a report. The deputies shared in a press release that they attempted to render aid to the 2-year-old child before the child was airlifted to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
As of now, the deputies have not received updates on the child’s condition. It was also not shared whether the loaded gun that the 4 year old had used belonged to the parents.
