Feminine hygiene products manufacturers will reimburse sales tax on menstrual products with the launch of the Tampon Tax Back Coalition.
Tampon Tax Back Coalition: Buyers Can Get Reimbursement of the Feminine Hygiene Products
According to SCRIPPS, manufacturers can now reimburse the “unjust” sales tax on feminine hygiene products, such as tampons, pads, and menstrual cups, in celebration of International Day of the Girl.
The companies argue that feminine hygiene products should be sold free of taxes as they are considered a medical necessity for women, yet shoppers still pay the sales tax on them in 21 states.
Tampon Tax Back Coalition: List of Feminine Hygiene Products Manufacturers
According to CNN, eight of the manufacturers of feminine hygiene products partnered up and made an effort to reimburse consumers for the unjust tax on tampons, pads, and menstrual cups and thus wanted to reimburse.
The eight company brands that reimburse the sales tax on feminine hygiene products are the following:
- August
- Cora
- Lola
- The Honey Pot
- Rael
- Here We Flo
- Saalt, and
- DIVA
The group of companies also stated that the shoppers who purchased feminine hygiene products from them, whether from stores or online, can submit their receipt to www.tampontaxback.com and be reimbursed the tax straight to their Venmo or PayPal within 24 hours after the calculation of how much the buyer paid their taxes.
