The Massachusetts State Police’s Most Wanted List currently features Holyoke resident Kermith Alvarez, 28 years old, for the crime of murder. He goes by the moniker Kermith Vargas and is 5 feet 6 inches tall with brown eyes and black hair.
Shooting in Holyoke Update
Massachusetts State Police’s Most Wanted List matches the features described as one of the murderers in the Holyoke shooting incident. He has been named the third suspect by the Hampden district attorney’s office in the midday shooting that occurred in downtown Holyoke on Wednesday and resulted in injuries to a pregnant woman riding a PVTA bus and the death of her unborn child. Alejandro Ramos and John Luis Sanchez, the other two suspects, are both already in jail after being accused of murder. However, Alvarez is still being sought by the authorities, who think he is armed and dangerous.
In the meantime, steps are being taken to improve city safety in the week after the shooting. Holyoke police riding their bikes and walking the streets. The department shared images of cops on bikes and patrol in the streets on social media. Selena Santana, a mother who was hurt in the incident, is also venting her rage on social media by sharing her posts. A note to the baby child she lost as well.
In part, one of her posts states: “Ezekiel, my prince, my baby, you didn’t deserve any of this, but I swear you’re going to change and get justice!”
