According to FOX News, the U.S. military in Syria struck down an armed Turkish drone on Thursday despite warnings being sent to the Turkish military.
The armed Turkish drone that was just stuck down last Thursday was the U.S. military’s form of defense after it did not leave and for Turkish military ignoring their warnings for more than a dozen.
Armed Turkish Drone Shoot-Down is a “Regrettable Incident”
According to AP News, Air Force Brig. Gen Patrick Ryder called the armed Turkish drone shoot-down a regrettable incident as it was made to protect the troops and were forced to go to bunkers for safety against Turkey-bombed targets near their camp.
The Defense Secretary and the new Joint Chiefs chairman, Gen. CQ Brown emphasized that they value the relationship with Turkey. Thus, avoiding similar incidents in the future should be a must and ensure the safety of the U.S. military in Syria.
The U.S. personnel also emphasized that shooting down the armed Turkish drone was a big decision that they had to make to protect the U.S. forces. Additionally, it is added that Turkey had no intention to target the military troops.
