According to POLITOMIX, Congressman Joaquin Castro stated he plans to file a resolution that does not need military actions to invade Mexico. He additionally stated that he would urge the House representatives to reject the republican’s call for military action without Mexico’s consent and congressional authorization.
San Antonio Democrat and House foreign affairs committee member’s proposed measure after US John Kennedy urged the US to send its troops into Mexico to confront drug cartels. However, Congressman Joaquin Castro opposed the idea of Kennedy and proposed his own idea.
