The top health authorities for Los Angeles County rolled up their sleeves and received updated COVID-19 booster shots on Wednesday as they urged locals to get the latest inoculation now that they are accessible locally, especially those in groups at risk of severe illness from infection.
Los Angeles County Health Authorities Received The Updated COVID-19 Booster Shots
As per HEY Socal, Dr. Muntu Davis, the county’s health officer, and Barbara Ferrer, the director of public health, both received the shot on Wednesday at Ted Watkins Park in Watts, which serves as the county’s vaccination site.
The Updated COVID-19 Booster Shots, which is specifically designed to protect against COVID-19 variants that are currently in circulation, is gradually becoming more widely accessible, according to Ferrer. The county anticipates that by the end of the next few weeks, the vaccinations will be accessible at more than 1,000 locations throughout the county.
Health officials noted that while vaccination does not always prevent infection, it does keep people from getting very sick or even dying from the virus.

Ferrer mentioned that all vaccination clinics run by the county offer their services for free. She added that many locations will offer free vaccinations to those without insurance or with inadequate insurance.
The Updated COVID-19 Booster Shots should be free for those with insurance, but Ferrer advised that people should check with their insurance provider to see if they need to find an in-network provider in order to receive a free shot.
