Sukhoi Su-27, Ukranian’s Soviet-Era Fighter, was recently revealed to be in the possession of the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, which they announced through social media on Tuesday and released a series of its pictures.
USAF Currently Possess the Sukhoi Su-27
According to Flight Global, the U.S. Air Force known as USAF has revealed that they recently acquired Ukrainian’s Soviet-designed aircraft, the Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker in their recent post on social media where they revealed a series of pictures of the Sukhoi Su-27 sitting outside one of its hangars on Tuesday, September 26.
The recently acquired foreign-made Sukhoi Su-27 is a jet that has two-seat. The Sukhoi Su-27 is known for its murky history. It is also believed to have spent its time for the last decade at Area 51.
Sukhoi Su-27 Acquired from Ukraine
According to The Drive, the recently acquired jet, Sukhoi Su-27, was purchased on the open market from Ukraine and was then put up for sale in the United States. After acquiring the Sukhoi Su-27, the Federal Aviation Administration and USAF registered the jet as N121SU.
The Sukhoi Su-27 was the first jet that became available to civilians in the United States which drew a lot of attention and interest from the Americans. For an aircraft that’s under only $5 million, it is what you can call such a steal.
