Next week, residents of Montour County who are interested in finding work will have the opportunity to attend a job fair hosted by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).
Job Fair at Columbia County Maintenance Office Hosted by the PennDOT
The event will take place on Tuesday, October 3, from 2:00 to 6:00 o’clock in the evening at the Columbia County Maintenance Office, which is located at 45 Lunger Drive in Bloomsburg. PennDOT is conducting an active search for candidates to fill a number of positions, including those of a transportation equipment operator trainee, transportation equipment operator, and seasonal transportation equipment operator. According to PennDOT, there will be staff available to discuss opportunities for CDL operators during the event.
According to PennDOT’s website, individuals who are interested in applying for the position of Transportation Equipment Operator Trainee are required to have a valid CDL permit on their very first day of employment. “Candidates who are interested in the Transportation Equipment Operator A position are required to have a valid Pennsylvania (PA) CDL Class A or B license with the restrictions regarding air brakes and manual transmission removed from their license. A valid medical examiner certificate is another need for holding one of these roles.
According to the department, on-the-spot applications will be provided, and both laptops and employees will be available to help guests who are interested in receiving assistance.
