A Cedar Hill man initiated legal action against the city and Methodist Health System after he said that police broke his leg while being detained at a hospital after a traffic stop.
Cedar Hill Man Sues Cedar Hill and Hospital Police Officers
According to NBCDFW, a Cedar Hill man named Twann Campbell sued the Cedar Hill City police and Methodist Health police officer. The Cedar Hill man claimed that he sustained personal injuries in several places that stemmed from a traffic stop on September 18, 2021.
Moreover, the Cedar Hill man also stated that his leg was broken while he was being detained at a hospital on the same day.
However, both the Cedar Hill Police Office and the Methodist Health System spokesperson declined to comment about the lawsuit on Sunday. On that same date, the Cedar Hill man’s lawyer also did not respond to a request for comment.

Cedar Hill Man Detained for Unexpected Act of Violence
Dallas Morning News reports that the Cedar Hill man’s lawsuit against the officers stated that the Cedar Hill man, Campbell, was pulled over for an expired registration and was asked to step out of his car and perform a field sobriety test where he had to perform several tests in order to know if he was intoxicated with alcohol or other drugs while he was driving.
Cedar Hill man’s lawsuit noted that Campbell wasn’t told whether he passed or failed the test. Moreover, the Miranda rights were also not read to him during the tests.
According to the lawsuit, the Cedar Hill man was taken to Methodist Charlton Medical Center to get his blood drawn and was offered to take a seat. However, when he refused several times, the police officer described the act as a sudden and unexpected act of violence and grabbed his arm to sit in the chair, resulting in an injured leg.
The Cedar Hill man seeks $1 million for the damages.
