Arik Gilbert, a Nebraska football player, was arrested on burglary charges in Lumpkin County, Georgia on Friday. This is Arik Gilbert’s second arrest in as many weeks. On August 29, the tight end was also arrested on burglary charges in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Arik Gilbert Accused of Taking Cigars and Vape Pens
Gilbert was accused of smash-and-grab burglary and obstructing cops in his most recent arrest. The Nebraska football player was arrested just a few weeks ago for allegedly robbing a booze and vape business. Gilbert is accused of attempting to take $1,600 in items, including cigars and vape pens. Gilbert made the decision to move from Georgia to Nebraska. Since the tight end is transferring for the second time, he has been waiting for the NCAA to grant him eligibility.
“Obviously, I’m disappointed and sad for him,” Nebraska coach Matt Rhule said when Gilbert was arrested in August. Coach Rhule indicated that when they took Arik, he thought he had a wonderful group of people who could help him work through some of the challenges in his life. Coach Rhule was quite impressed with Gilbert’s work during the spring and summer. Gilbert encountered some obstacles while in camp. He is seeking to defeat them. They have a terrific team of people working to help him.
Gilbert was one of the top tight ends in his recruiting class when he committed to LSU in 2020. For the 2021 season, he transferred to Georgia. Gilbert did not play much in Georgia owing to personal concerns.
