The Eggroll Queen food truck, a prominent Metro area food truck, suffered a significant loss because of a theft at a farmers market in South St. Paul.
Mai Vang currently runs four Eggroll Queen food truck, usually staffed by family members, but they’ll be a touch thin once her children return to school, and she claims someone else has noticed. At the South St. Paul Farmers Market on Wednesday night, a thief reached into the Eggroll Queen food truck and grabbed a large bag of cash and other valuables.
In the recent published article by FOX 9, they hadn’t been to the bank in more than two weeks because they’d been working up to 19 hours a day, so the bag contained almost $20,000, which is amazing for a food truck.
“It’s not so much that we lost so much money, but I felt like these people had been watching us for a while,” the owner of Eggroll Queen food truck stated.
Police said the thief fled the farmer’s market and may have jumped into a vehicle, but they have no idea what occurred after that and no suspects.

Vang launched the Eggroll Queen food truck eight years ago due to popular demand for the dish she created for a fundraiser to benefit the family of a four-year-old girl who passed away in a fire. And some individuals are dropping off donations now that the tables have turned and she might need the assistance, but she is not completely ready to accept.
According to FOX 9, the founder of the food truck stated that the incident has drained her. She blames herself for not going to the bank, and she feels betrayed after two years of peaceful shopping at that farmer’s market.
But Vang says she still has her food trucks, so the only help she will accept for now is extra orders for egg rolls and fried rice.
