A 30-year-old Tremaine Hadden has been sentenced to 37 years in state prison after he pleaded guilty of shooting a New Jersey State Police Detective in 2020 while investigating a Salem County home invasion.

Hadden Serve 37 Years In Prison

SOURCE– Tremaine Hadden pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 37 years in state prison after he shot a New Jersey State Police Detective in 2020 while investigating a Salem County home invasion. He was sentenced to 37 years in prison, including nearly 28 years without the possibility of parole on September 12, 2023. Tremaine Hadden faces multiple charges.

The New Jersey State Police Detective Richard Hershey was shot and wounded while investigating a home invasion in which a woman was beaten and robbed in Pittsgrove. The detective was on the crime scene when 15 people pulled up in five vehicles around 10:30 p.m., attempting to attack and injure a resident at the mobile home park and damage her home. The suspects were armed with at least two handguns, a knife, and a bottle.

Tremaine Hadden, along with two others, opened fire on Detective Hershey. Tremaine Hadden shot Detective Hershey numerous times from one vehicle while the other two suspects shot Detective Hershey from another vehicle. According to testimony, over a dozen shots were fired at Detective Hershey. Then, Tremaine Hadden and his company fled the scene. Luckily, the detective has recovered and returned to duty. Tremaine Hadden and his company were arrested and pleaded guilty.
