The spokeswoman for AAA Megan Cooper said that gas prices in Tennessee continued to drop despite the current rise in crude oil prices over the last week. Increasing oil prices amid tightening supply may start to push pump prices higher in the coming weeks. The drivers will expect to experience continued volatility to see an increase in pump prices following big jumps in the price of crude oil. Tennessee has the third least expensive state gas price average in the US- the Auto Club Group said.
In Tennessee, 26% of gas stations have prices below $3.25. The lowest and highest 10% of pump prices for regular unleaded are $3.12 and $3.73 respectively. The gas prices in Tennessee are the third least expensive market in the nation today.
