A man has been arrested by Glendale Police Department Officers on suspicion of firing at an armored truck and pointing a gun at them Sunday night during a barricade situation.

According to KTAR News, at around nine o’clock in the evening, Glendale Police Department Officers were called to a house close to 75th Avenue and Deer Valley Road. according to a probable cause statement, for a welfare check after a lady contacted 911 and said that her boyfriend had made suicidal remarks.
According to the probable cause statement, after two officers tried to contact the suspect, 34-year-old David McPherson, on the phone, McPherson left the house and pointed a gun at the Glendale Police Department Officers.
Glendale Police Department Officers say that as SWAT vehicles arrived and one attempted to break through the front door, between 10 and 15 shots were heard coming from inside the house.

Glendale Police Department Officers Said That The Man Was Experiencing A Mental Health Crisis
As per the report of Abc 15, the suspect was arrested many hours after a SWAT team was dispatched to help with the scene.
Following a search, Glendale Police Department Officers discovered six firearms, body armor with plates, and thousands of rounds of ammunition.
It was believed that he was alone in the house at the time of the incident.
According to the Glendale Police Department Officers, the man was experiencing a mental health crisis.
Eight counts of aggravated assault on Glendale Police Department Officers, one count of endangerment, and two counts of criminal damage were filed against McPherson when he was arrested.
