According to CNN, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham cited that gun violence is an epidemic in their state. The gun violence epidemic has made many people afraid to go out in public places where they could be prospective victims of the shooting. Moreover, many parents also worry about their children going out to school due to the incidents that involve kids.
Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham also stated on Saturday that violence involving the use of guns is one of the most dangers the America is facing and argues that a legal action must be made.
Thus, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and other officials have taken action and declared the suspension of carrying a firearm to ensure the protection of civilians.

The governor of New Mexico, Michelle Lujan Grisham, has enforced a public health emergency after a mass shooting in Albuquerque that resulted in the deaths of three children.
The Washington Post reports that the legal action of suspending the use and carrying of firearms in public places will last for 30 days. The New Mexico governor, Michelle Lujan Grisham stressed that this could be renewed or changed.
Moreover, Michelle Lujan Grisham says that law enforcement officials and licensed security officers were exempted from the ban on firearms.
