After a stunning expose of China’s latest espionage activities, a former U.S. military officer disclosed what nationals-posed-as-tourists are looking for at government locations across America.
100 Chinese Posing as Tourist Attempted to Break Into US Military Outpost
In published news from Fox Business, “They want a global military power projection capability that’s very hard to build, took us decades,” Heritage Foundation senior fellow Michael Pillsbury said Tuesday on “Mornings with Maria”. “They want to cheat and go faster.” The FBI and Department of Defense have traced over 100 Chinese visitors who attempted to break into U.S. military outposts and other federal installations.
Several U.S. officials told The Wall Street Journal that “gate crashers,” including Chinese nationals caught crossing onto a missile range in New Mexico and scuba divers found swimming in muddy waters near a rocket launch site in Florida, are responsible. Authorities suspect the Chinese government is forcing people into service to test and report on installation security methods, which might be espionage.
“There’s a pattern, and it’s a slow, below-threshold approach,” Pillsbury said. “They don’t want to scare us into a Sputnik or Pearl Harbor reaction. They want us to sleep.” China was certainly trying to “spy” on America’s space program in Florida, SEAL Team Six in Virginia, and middle-range missile capabilities in New Mexico, according to the military expert.

China Allegedly Spying on US Military Site
“They want a global expeditionary capability, learning how,” Pillsbury added. The Chinese have various methods of spying and intelligence gathering, but having travelers claim to be lost while carrying cameras and recorders is quite blatant. According to the FBI, China is executing “a broad, diverse campaign of theft and malign influence” under international law, according to Fox News Digital.
According to an FBI spokesperson, the FBI is committed to protecting our national security and defense information from the Chinese government’s actions and efforts to undermine our democracy and those who defend it in collaboration with our defense and intelligence community partners, as well as state and local law enforcement.
Pillsbury called the Biden administration’s China strategy “appeasement.” Biden is attempting to be flexible. To pretend he was tough last year but take a different attitude this year is dangerous “said. But the Chinese are thrilled. Their journalistic adoration for Biden has increased in the last month.”
“I don’t know how Biden’s going to claim he’s tough on China with scenes like this,” Pillsbury said. “It’s embarrassing.”
