SOURCE– A 24-year-old man, Shawndre Delmore, died after being found unresponsive at Fulton County Jail in Atlanta. A Fulton County Jail officer found him during a routine check before 8:30 p.m. on August 31. The county sheriff’s office said in a news release that the officer tried to revive Shawndre Delmore until medical staff arrived. He was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital and died on September 23.
The authorities’ investigation is ongoing on his death. Also, the county medical examiner will do an autopsy. Shawndre Delmore is the sixth person who died in Fulton County Jail in Atlanta since the end of July. He was arrested last April 1 by Atlanta police and was being held on $2,500 bond on a second-degree burglary charge.
As of now, no additional information or report coming from authorities about the cause of death of Shawndre Delmore. The Atlanta police officers will investigate his death for potential civil rights violations and are waiting for the result of his autopsy. Shawndre Delmore, 24, is the sixth person who died at Fulton County Jail in Atlanta this year.
