Police officers are searching for three men who robbed a local pawn shop last Saturday morning. Three masked men stole 26 guns, $1,500 in cash, and an unknown amount of jewelry from the Smart Pawn and Jewelry on Monroe Road.

SOURCE– In Smart Pawn and Jewelry on Monroe Road, three masked men reported that they stole 26 guns, $1,500 in cash, and an unknown amount of jewelry before 10 a.m. on Saturday. The three men took the guns, money, and jewelry in a light-colored van. Police officers still searching for the three men who robbed a local pawn shop.
During the crime, there were at least three people inside. The owner of Hyatt Gun Shop in West Charlotte, Larry Hyatt, said that a daylight-armed robbery is more dangerous than breaking into your store at night when no one is there because there is a possibility that someone could get hurt. He added that it is important to be always prepared for possible crimes to happen.
Larry Hyatt also said they have attended training on how to deal with violent attacks. According to CMPD, there were 855 guns reported stolen so far this year as of June- a 5% increase from 2022. The police reported that no one was injured during the robbery at the Smart Pawn and Jewelry.
