The Hanson City Commissioners have given their approval for the continuation of 2022 property tax rates in place for the present year.
2022 Property Tax Rates to Remain Unchanged
The Messenger News reports that the Hanson City Commissioner voted last Tuesday to maintain the 2022 property tax rates in place for 2023.
It’s worth noting that the tax rates for different types of properties vary. To illustrate, the real property tax rates is 13 cents per $100, while tangible property tax rates is assessed at 2.4 cents per $100. For motor vehicle property tax rates, is set at 15.9 cents per $100.

Property Tax Rates Voted Not to Increase by Commissioners
As stated by Caser Pearson, the City Clerk of Hanson, there has been no increase in rates for vehicle and water taxes in recent years, and this trend is expected to continue throughout 2023. Pearson also emphasized that there is no need to raise property tax rates excessively or double them. These measures are not necessary to maintain the city’s financial stability and to provide essential services to its residents.
During their meetings, the commissioners made the decision to refrain from increasing property tax rates. Additionally, they granted approval for burn permits.
