After allegedly ingesting an unknown toxic substance, a man in Green Valley was visited by different agencies such as the Pima County Sheriff’s deputies, the Green Valley Fire Department, the FBI, and the Pima Regional Bomb Squad on Friday morning.
At 7:45 a.m., different agencies conducted a welfare check on the man. According to a news release published by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred in the 3000 block of South Calle Viva.
In the recent published article by 9KGUN, when the different agencies arrived, they discovered that the individual was suffering a personal crisis and may have consumed the chemical, according to the news release.
The house was evacuated, and the surrounding area was blocked off. According to the the release, the Pima bomb squad employed special equipment to enter and clear the residence, reducing the risk of exposure to responding employees.
As stated by Pima County Sheriff’s Deputy Adam Schoonover, the resident was taken out of the home without incident and sent to the hospital around 11:45 a.m.

Schoonover stated that he has no knowledge of the man’s condition and that it is unknown what he ingested.
As per to Green Valley News, several roads were closed during the incident, which ended shortly after noon.
According to the announcement, there is no danger to the public. The investigation is still going on.
