High crime rates, limited job opportunities, low incomes, and underfunded schools are problems that affect some worst places to live in South Dakota.

According to Money INC, if you’re a single woman, Vermillion, South Dakota is first on the list of the worst places to live in South Dakota. Women make up only 36% of the management workforce. Women get $0.68 for every dollar earned by males. According to the terrible statistics, 7.9 percent of single women do not have health insurance. The proportion of unmarried women living in poverty is unexpected: 32.8 percent.

Sturgis is also one of the worst places to live in South Dakota, since it has its own set of issues. If you’re a single woman in this city, expect to earn $0.51 for every dollar that a man earns for comparable work. Women have a poverty rate of 13.2 percent, with only 43 percent in management. In Sturgis, 15.5 percent of single women are uninsured, which means they do not have health insurance.

Tea is also one of the worst places to live in South Dakota, since despite a drop in the poverty rate of 4.4 percent, uninsured statistics show that 6.2 percent of single women lack health coverage. Worse, they make significantly less. Single women earn only $0.62 for every dollar earned by men. Furthermore, only 22.6 percent of the management workforce is female.

When traveling in South Dakota, whether alone or in a group, it essential to be aware of your surroundings and avoid deserted areas.

According to Travel Safe, South Dakota’s violent crime rate climbed by 27% to 500 per 100,000, while property crime jumped by 19% to 19 per 1,000. The most common crimes were assault, theft–particularly parcel theft–and vandalism.
