SOURCE– According to the White House, the secret negotiations between Russia and North Korea are to secure an arms deal for the ongoing war in Ukraine. The US is concerned about the recent exchange of letters between Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un who was pledging to increase cooperation.
The United States is concerned about the potential weapons deal from Pyongyang to supply military assistance for the Kremlin on the ongoing war in Ukraine- including significant quantities and several types of munitions. The arms negotiations between Russia and North Korea are actively advancing. The high level of discussions are expected in the coming months between Russia and North Korea.
The letters followed two apparent in-person negotiations between Russia and North Korea to secure weapons from Pyongyang. The first meeting was conducted by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, the one who visited Pyongyang. Then, that meeting was followed by another Russian official to Pyongyang. North Korea is not the only one who supported Russia to its war in Ukraine but also the Iran that provided Russia with thousands of suicide drones. Also, Tehran provided drones and munitions to Russia, and China that sold weapons and other military equipment to Russia.
