U.S. Senator Jim Risch, the ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, joined U.S. Senator Tim Scott and his colleagues wrote a letter to U.S. Miguel Cardona, Secretary of Education, expressed concerns over Chinese Communist Party Influence in American K-12 schools, indicating that millions of cash from Chinese Communist Party (CCP)-linked entities have flowed into America’s K-12 classrooms.
The investigation comes amid revelations that the CCP has been threatening the national security for nearly two decades by using tools like grants, sister school partnerships, “Confucius Classrooms,” and other state-sponsored programming that threaten the integrity of America’s K-12 educational system. That is why the Senators wrote a letter to the Department of Education Secretary because of their concern over the Chinese Communist Party influence in K-12 schools.
In the recent published article by Foreign, the Senate letter because of their concern over the Chinese Communist Party influence in K-12 schools, also requests that the U.S. Department of Education will conduct a nationwide audit to assess the extent of funding in schools from hostile foreign opponents.
Joining Risch and Scott in writing the letter out of their concern over the Chinese Communist Party influence in K-12 schools, are Senators Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-La.), ranking member of the Senate HELP Committee, John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), John Cornyn (R-Texas), Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.), Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), and James Lankford (R-Okla.).
Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.), Roger Marshall (R-Kansas), John Thune (R-S.D.), Mitt Romney (R-Utah), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Rick Scott (R-Fla.), Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.), and J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) are also joining Risch and Scott in writing the letter to the US Department of Education Secretar Miguel Cardona stating their concern over the Chinese Communist Party influence in American K-12 schools.

In the Senators letter stating their worry over the Chinese Communist Party influence in American K-12 schools, they said “Programs vetted and managed by the Government of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) have infiltrated 34 states nationwide, impacting more than 170,000 students across 143 school districts.”
According to Romney, the Senators continued, “We prompt you to conduct a thorough, civil inspection to determine how important backing from hostile foreign governments has flowed to America’s K- 12 seminaries. We also prompt you to dissect the extent to which other hostile foreign governments, in addition to the PRC, may have formerly gained access to our K- 12 seminaries.”
“The CCP is the topmost trouble to America’s security moment. The Chinese Communist Party influence in the K- 12 education system farther demonstrates how far the Chinese government is willing go to expand its influence and promote its authoritarian docket. We cannot sit idle and allow this expansion of Chinese Communist Party propaganda. Parents can earn translucency and policymakers must know the extent of the problem so we can work on results to cover both our scholars and our public security.”
“Accordingly, we urge you to conduct a thorough, nationwide audit to determine how much funding from hostile foreign governments has flowed into America’s K-12 schools. We urge you to analyze the extent to which other hostile foreign governments, in addition to the PRC, may have already gained access to our K-12 schools.”
