According to a report from SPACE, the world’s leading astronomical observatories were reportedly attacked by mysterious hackers. The mysterious hackers have caused the advanced telescopes to shut down temporarily.
The NOIRLab reported that there was a cybersecurity incident that occurred on the 1st of August caused by mysterious hackers and temporarily halted its operations.
The mysterious hackers targeted the astronomical observatories at Gemini North Telescope in Hawaii and Gemini South Telescope in Chile, which were greatly affected. Moreover, other small telescopes on Cerro Tolol were also reportedly affected.
