What Happened With The Statue Stolen From Eden Park?
According to cincinnati.com, the local Italian community received the unwelcome news that a statue had been stolen from its pedestal at Eden Park. Last year, the city and Lodge 1101 of the Order of the Sons and Daughters of Italy discussed finding a substitute. They realized their dream after conducting their own private fundraising.
The prized icon of Italian-Cincinnati history will soon return to its Mount Adams residence.
On June 17, 2022, the Cincinnati Park Board reported that the she-wolf had been taken the previous evening after cutting through the statue’s bronze paws. The burglar stole two neighboring statues of Romulus and Remus from Roman mythology.
